At LessonUp, our main driver to start the day is our mission. We want to make smiles appear on the faces of over 1 million teachers in the world. Our platform will make this happen by being an easy to go to place to make interactive, present-day classes to share with the kids. Together, the teachers and the LessonUp team have already made thousands of classes, video’s, images and assignments to work with. In class, or remote! An easy and fun way to teach - just like it should be.
The amount of users is growing - we’ve reached 150k users some time ago - and we are ready to level-up our marketing strategies to grow further - even across borders. This means it's time to take our marketing efforts to the next level. And we are looking for a Head of Marketing to take the lead.

For us, the most important thing are the teachers. Our overall vision and mission have everything to do with making their lives, and with this, education more fun and easy. Up to now, we have been focussing a lot on the product, which has led us to big success already. Over the last year we've tripled in numbers and we are pretty sure that this is our momentum to make a change. We want to rebrand, set up a great marketing strategy, move across the borders and take complete use of this chance to grow. For this, we are looking for a creative, data driven and goal-oriented person that wants to drive this and help us to make it happen.
Let's share some of our key deliverables, to give you a bit more info about what this challenge will entail:
+ Setting up and leading our Marketing team - train, inspire and hire.
+ Rebranding and positioning LessonUp in the Dutch ánd other international markets;
+ Setting up our marketing plan, which will include our ideal marketing mix, consistency in tone and new markets;
+ Responsible for awareness, acquisition and activation KPI's.
We have only one marketing team member at this point, and we expect this team to grow to about 4 people in the coming year. This means that this is still a very hands-on job, where we expect you to use your strategic vision to determine the right priorities on the long term, but that you will be very hands on when it comes to short term. This is something that you like doing, while working in a small time of about 25-35 people in the next year.
The combination of the creative branding part with the data driven approach of a strong marketing mix, is what makes this challenge an interesting one. You can make a big impact on who we are as a brand and how we will position ourselves in the market.
